3 days intensive course

Program

Friday, April 28, Gasthof Ewers; Lectures and wet labs

• 10:00 – Begin
• 10:05 – Standardized 2-D and M mode imaging and measurement. Why bother? Lesley Young
• 11:00 – Coffee break
• 11:30 – How we do 2-D and M mode imaging and measurement. Mary Durando
• 12:30 – How we use Doppler? All instructors
• 13:30 – Lunch
• 14:30 – Participants will rotate between instructors and work on horses for 60 minutes each (stations: 1) 2D an M-Mode from right parasternal; 2) 2D, M-Mode and Doppler from left parasternal; 3) Doppler from right parasternal).
• 19:00 – End and Barbecue

Saturday, April 29, Tierklinik Lüsche: Lectures and wet labs

• 9:00 – Discussion on findings and challenges encountered on day 1
• 10:00 – Advanced echocardiographic imaging. Dominique DeClercq
• 11:00 – Coffee break
• 11:30 – Case presentations by participants (need to be submitted 4 weeks in advance including complete anamnesis, images, findings and suggested / implemented therapy)
• 13:00 – Lunch
• 14:00 – Participants will work on horses with the assistance of the instructors in 3 stations for 60 minutes each
• 18:00 – End

Sunday, April 30, Tierklinik Lüsche; Lectures and wet labs

• 8:30 – Discussion on challenges encountered on day 2 and case presentations
• 10:00 – Coffee break
• 10:30 – Wet labs: The participants make the diagnosis (3 stations, each with a horse with echocardiographic findings to be diagnosed by each group = teamwork = 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!!!!)
• 13:00 – Lunch
• 14:00 – Discussion of findings, diagnosis and treatments of cases presented
• 16:30 – End

Many opportunities are given to improve the own skills while working under the guidance of the experts! We encourage you to bring along your own equipment! 18 participants only.
